HomeHaven USA, a small American town of just under 500 people, has very simple election protocols.
Anyone who wants to run for office simply has to file a petition of intention and pay a modest administrative fee.
One of its residents, John Smith, has done just that.
And that’s all he’s done.

After declaring his candidacy for mayor, and filing the required petition, he hasn’t been heard from again.
He has no staff, no campaign headquarters, no spokesperson, no platform, no proven experience in public office,
no party backing, and no endorsements. He has not made a single speech, attended any community meetings,
or held one fund-raiser. He has not spoken to the media, and has ignored all requests to be interviewed.

Now it’s Election Day, and Lloyd Branson is in HomeHaven for Up-To-Date Election Coverage.

Through an informal exit poll, Branson learns how HomeHaven’s citizens have voted, and why they’ve voted as they have.
As the race winds down and a winner is finally declared, Branson tries to answer two questions:
Who will be the next mayor HomeHaven?
and
What are these people thinking?

“A very pointed and topical piece...”
“Though quite a funny romp it also hints at a greater and disturbing truth
about the democratic process.”

“The play that ends the show [it] takes things to a new, relevant level.”
– J. Peter Bergman, Berkshire On Stage

“[says] a lot about the current state of politics”
